Game trailer soundtracks that shouldn’t work, but would
I’ve been working on a feature for the magazine about the best game trailers ever, and I’ve noticed that some of the best trailers use music that you wouldn’t immediately think appropriate for deliberate effect. Sometimes the point is to accentuate the emotional depth of massively violent games with quiet, sad music, whereas in others the lyrics will add a delicious layer of irony. Anyway, this gave me an idea. Just for fun, I thought I’d come up with songs to go with some forthcoming game releases using the deliberately inappropriate music template as my guide.
